WHY CHOOSE AN ALUMINUM TRAY?

Aluminium ute trays offer an unbeatable combination of strength, corrosion resistance, and lightweight performance that steel simply can't match. Unlike traditional steel trays that rust over time — especially in coastal environments like Sydney — aluminium resists oxidation naturally and maintains its structural integrity for decades. Our anodized aluminium construction adds a further layer of protection, ensuring your tray looks and performs like new for years to come. With up to 40% weight savings over comparable steel trays, you'll also enjoy improved fuel economy and increased payload capacity.

Every TIGER ute tray features our signature I-beam reinforced deck design, developed through consultation with trade professionals and structural engineers. The I-beam profile provides exceptional rigidity across the full deck surface, distributing point loads evenly and preventing localised flex or deformation. This means you can confidently load heavy toolboxes, construction materials, or trade equipment without worrying about deck fatigue. Our reinforced deck design has been tested to exceed ADR compliance standards, giving you peace of mind on every job.

We precision-fit ute trays to all major Australian cab chassis models including Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-MAX, Mazda BT-50, Mitsubishi Triton, and more. Each tray is measured and drilled to match your specific vehicle's mounting points, ensuring a factory-quality fit without modification. Our in-house fitting team in Sydney handles the complete installation process, including wiring integration for tail lights, indicators, and reverse lights. We also offer Australia-wide freight for self-install or fitting through our dealer network.

TIGER ute trays are purpose-built for the harsh realities of Australian work sites. From the extreme UV exposure of outback mining operations to the salt-spray corrosion of coastal construction projects, our trays are engineered to withstand the conditions that destroy lesser products. Every design decision — from drainage channels to tie-down point placement — is informed by feedback from real tradies, fleet managers, and industry professionals who rely on their equipment daily.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Technical answers to the most common questions about our ute trays, fitting, and warranties.

What is the payload capacity of TIGER ute trays?

Our aluminium ute trays are rated from 1,000kg to 1,250kg payload depending on the series. The Tradie Series handles up to 1,000kg, while the Heavy Duty Tough Alloy range supports up to 1,250kg. All ratings are tested in accordance with Australian Design Rules (ADR) and include the weight of the tray itself in GVM calculations.

We manufacture trays to suit most popular Australian cab chassis utes including Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-MAX, Mazda BT-50, Mitsubishi Triton, Volkswagen Amarok, Kia K2700, and BYD Shark. Each tray is precision-drilled to match your vehicle's specific chassis mounting points. Contact us with your vehicle details for confirmation.

Standard tray fitting at our Sydney workshop takes approximately 4–6 hours. Most vehicles are dropped off in the morning and ready for collection the same afternoon. Complex installations with additional accessories (toolboxes, ladder racks, bull bars) may require an overnight stay. We'll confirm the timeframe when you book.

Aluminium trays are approximately 40% lighter than comparable steel trays, which improves fuel economy and increases effective payload. Aluminium is naturally corrosion-resistant (no rusting), requires less maintenance, and has a longer service life. Steel trays are typically cheaper upfront and can be easier to weld-repair in the field, making them popular for remote mining applications.

Yes, we freight ute trays Australia-wide. Sydney and greater NSW customers can take advantage of our in-house fitting service. For interstate customers, we ship pre-drilled trays with detailed fitting instructions, or can recommend a fitting partner in your area. Freight costs vary by location — contact us for a delivered price to your postcode.

All TIGER ute trays come with a lifetime structural warranty on workmanship and a 3-year warranty on powder coating and finish. This covers manufacturing defects, weld failures, and structural issues under normal commercial use. The warranty does not cover damage from accidents, overloading beyond rated capacity, or unauthorised modifications.

Will the tray change my Isuzu D-MAX towing capacity or payload?

Towing capacity remains unchanged. Payload must still comply with your GVM limits.

What tray suits my Isuzu D-MAX?

The 1860W tray is the most suitable to match the width of the Isuzu Dmax.

Can you relocate the cross traffic sensor on my Isuzu D-MAX?

Yes, we will relocate the factory cross traffic alert into a molded bracket to suit the sensor.

Can I get a longer tray on my Isuzu D-MAX?

Yes, we have standard lengths and longer lengths available. Talk with our team to choose a suitable length.

Do you provide after-installation support or adjustments if needed?

Yes, if you feel you need any changes with your tray you are more than welcome to give us a call and book in a free inspection.

Can the tray be fitted without modifying the Isuzu D-MAX chassis?

Yes. The tray is designed to mount directly to factory chassis points without any structural modification.

I've had a tray fitted but now I need a ladder rack?

Yes, a ladder rack can still be fitted after your tray has already been installed. Our ladder rack systems are designed to bolt onto existing tray setups, so there’s no need to remove the tray.
